Rwanda

Trek through misty forests to meet mountain gorillas face to face.

Rwanda is a land of breathtaking landscapes and transformative wildlife encounters. The Virunga Mountains are home to the world’s last wild mountain gorillas, where intimate treks through Volcanoes National Park offer one of the most moving wildlife experiences on Earth.

The Nyungwe Forest teems with chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and hidden waterfalls, while Akagera National Park is a conservation success story, now home to the Big Five. Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, is a city of resilience and renewal, offering powerful historical sites and a thriving arts and culinary scene. From gorilla trekking to safari adventures, Rwanda is a journey of wonder and inspiration.

Best Times to Visit

June to September, December to February: The best time for gorilla trekking is during the dry seasons when trails are less muddy. Wildlife viewing in Akagera National Park is also best in these months, while birding in Nyungwe Forest is superb year-round.
